Tagged: tw: kelly, call of the night, uguisu anko, 👁👄👁, i started reading call of the last night on a whim and ended up speeding through the whole thing, i thought it was going to be trashy but reasonably engaging from the way it started, but by chapter 20 it was straight up Good, i can only describe it as having taken a grip of its best core elements and refining them over time, i don't think that happens very often so i was elated, i was not expecting it to be so emotionally mature and nuanced regarding feelings and relationships, the whole experience was a very pleasant surprise!, anyway anko. some motivations i felt like i had to stretch my suspension of disbelief to buy into but they at the core still make sense, but she treads treads that line of simultaneously extremely and unnecessarily cool and profoundly sad and pathetic and that is so tasty, she doesn't become a less entertaining character once she has her character development moment and i'm glad about that, .
