tw: kellycall of the nightuguisu anko👁👄👁i started reading call of the last night on a whim and ended up speeding through the whole thingi thought it was going to be trashy but reasonably engaging from the way it startedbut by chapter 20 it was straight up Goodi can only describe it as having taken a grip of its best core elements and refining them over timei don't think that happens very often so i was elatedi was not expecting it to be so emotionally mature and nuanced regarding feelings and relationshipsthe whole experience was a very pleasant surprise!anyway anko. some motivations i felt like i had to stretch my suspension of disbelief to buy into but they at the core still make sensebut she treads treads that line of simultaneously extremely and unnecessarily cool and profoundly sad and pathetic and that is so tastyshe doesn't become a less entertaining character once she has her character development moment and i'm glad about that
