the “i can x him” meme really highlights is how rare or at least little talked about having and indulging in complex feelings about female characters is
partially i think it’s how people perceive existing female characters but i think a large part of it is also the lack of female characters that are allowed to be “messy” and the ones who ARE aren’t messy to the same degree as male characters
