me, for years: why doesn’t ao3 have an easy to use tag/user/work blocking system. seems basic. the existing work filtering system is kind of a hassle in practice if all you’re trying to do is avoid something without worrying about making a new search every time. there’s a huge disconnect between the way the site exists and how a lot of people use it, and at the very least it could use a lot of QoL updates.

  1. lamphoera said: @skydeck hahaha i didn’t KNOW there were filtering extensions… i don’t read a lot of fic anymore but whew! i don’t have any horses in this race so to speak but i always felt there was kind of a dissonance when people would advocate for self regulating the content you see (which like, yeah basic online skill!) but in practice the tools aren’t there? the whole experience could use… some work………
