hey, I just thought about something - did you ever play Nier (Replicant)?
somehow i actually haven’t delved into the remaster at all? i definitely should, it looks like they’ve done some interesting stuff with it. as far as the first nier goes i’ve watched a couple people play through gestalt, but i’ve not particularly touched replicant, either the original or the new one.
in my experience a lot of drakenier fans feel a stronger affinity toward the story and characters of gestalt/replicant, but basically everything about automata hit directly on all the things i was interested in and thinking about at the time, so while i like the first nier i don’t have as many personal feelings attached to it.
if you’ve been following me for more than 5 or so years i hope my transformation into a full blown weaboo has been entertaining at least
i like aki and angel devil’s interactions but i think akiangel fans largely fail to recognize that the core nature of akiangel as a dynamic is that it is deeply and fundamentally yuri
i am having a lot of fun forming my own conclusions and opinions on fate stay night and pointedly Not knowing about any popular readings the fanbase has had about it ever in 18 years
unfortunately i can’t say this anymore because i’ve since been exposed to people who hate sakura and think she is a badly written character because they decided to ignore stuff that the writers just turn to the camera and tell you thereby missing the point of heaven’s feel in a way that is. ironic, thematically speaking
honestly i think a very annoying part about the AI art boom is that techbros are out here going BEHOLD, IT CAN DO A REASONABLE FACSIMILE OF GIRL WITH BIG BOOBA, THE PINNACLE OF ARTISTIC ACHIEVEMENT and its like
no it’s fucking not! That AI wants to do melty nightmare fractal vomit so fucking bad and you are shackling it to a post and force-feeding it the labor of hard-working artists when you could literally pay someone to draw you artisanal hand-crafted girls with big boobs to your exact specifications and let your weird algorithms make art that can be reasonably used to represent horrors beyond human comprehension
