i really like reading tvtropes as entertainment because it’s so funny and blatantly obvious when the writer(s) for an entry is stating their opinion/theory as a fact, or when they’re trying to hype up something they clearly thought was super cool (by italicizing and bolding every other word) but you don’t know anything about the source material so you’re just like “:O”, or when they they’re just dead set on making a certain trope apply to something in particular but really it doesn’t so they have make all sorts of stretches
also i would like to add: when the writer of the entry is hyping up something they clearly thought was super cool but you do know the source material and it wasn’t actually a big deal
alternately: when the writer of the entry is hyping up something they clearly thought was super cool but you know the source material and it REALLY WAS that cool and you just feel a brief kinship with another person across the internet who is probably too concerned about documenting theories about obscure anime
