well, my main issue is mainly a matter of taste, not method; no amount of telling people how to do something is going to stop people from having their own opinions on what’s aesthetically pleasing – and that totally fine! just because something doesn’t appeal to me doesn’t mean it doesn’t appeal to somebody else, and there’s a reason that this particular trend is so prevalent

In all seriousness, though, as a general thing, I think it’s really important to embrace the fact that your first attempts are going to look bad. Drawing is as much learning what to do to make something look good as it is learning what to avoid.
It’s really disheartening to know what you want to do and not have the skill to pull it off, but that doesn’t mean you can’t try, and maybe learn something. It’s just as important to celebrate your successes as it is to evaluate your failures.

and also, not right now, but I’m thinking of opening up sketch commissions or something simple like that during the summer (which starts in a week boy howdy)
I dunno, but one year I got really fed up with the way they smelled so I did a google search out of spite to see what other people had to say and now the trees haunt me as a beacon of mankind’s Sin™
sometimes I dust off the askbox and gently caress the various asks and read them bedtime stories and tell them that i’ll be back soon and then go back to doing something inane like probably napping
